This "solid" option kit is a direct replacement for the leaky pressed tin versions on 850/998/1098cc engines and all 998cc A+ engines. Use this kit if you have a breather on the transfer case, rocker cover or timing chain cover. They are designed to be extremely stiff - so on assembly won't deform like the tin versions. We've created them to utilise a square section "O" ring seal around the outer edge and the stainless steel bolt has an O ring and nylon 66 washer for sealing. The washer protects the surface of the plate whilst tightening and also limits the compression on the bolt's O ring so it can't be damaged by over compression - all things that happen on the original part! Due to the large variance in the tapped holes that clamp the plates in the block we have a generous amount of room so the plates can be aligned perfectly then clamped down - again you don't have this option on oem parts!
