This breather vented option kit is a direct replacement for the leaky pressed tin ones on 850/998/1098cc engines and all 998cc A+ engines. They are designed to be extremely stiff - so on assembly won't deform like the tin versions. We've created them to utilise a square section "O" ring seal around the outer edge and the stainless steel bolt has an O ring and nylon 66 washer for sealing. The washer protects the surface of the plate whilst tightening and also limits the compression on the bolt's O ring so it can't be damaged by over compression - all things that happen on the original part! Due to the large variance in the tapped holes that clamp the plates in the block we have a generous amount of room so the plates can be aligned perfectly then clamped down - again you don't have this option on oem parts! The vent is internally baffled with knitted wire so will perform like an oem breather. Placement and fitment is exactly the same so all oem cast manifolds clear the plates and the same for aftermarket LCB's etc.
