Accurate camshaft timing is key to making the most of any engine modifications or camshaft changes. Our vernier timing gear is easily installed and adjusted on the engine. CNC machined in house, the high grade steel gears give the durability and strength for extreme service use, the aircraft grade alloy centre reduces the mass of the kit for faster engine response, chain is the superb IWIS competition spec item. Steel parts are plated for durability and the alloy parts anodised for protection and looks. Choice of colour for cam sprocket inner:- silver, black, red, blue and orange!
SC Vernier Kit comes complete with:-
Crankshaft sprocket, heavy duty construction for strength with deep cut keyway (steel cranks) and large radius to rear of the pulley (clearance on steel crank radii in this area) plated black.
Vernier cam sprocket, pre-assembled with alloy cup washers and fixings.
IWIS Competition chain.
2 x Countersunk socket cap ¼ UNF fixings – for timing backplate, tighten by hand or torque to 10-12 lb/ft – a small drop of Loctite medium strength 2400 would be advisable for peace of mind.
3 x Dome socket cap ¼ UNF fixings for cam thrust washer retention- fitting retention as above.
5ml bottle Loctite 2400 thread lock compound.

Tensioner:- designed to run without a tensioner, but no harm in doing so if required – never run them “tight”. On engines which have been line bored/honed its likely a tensioner, set very lightly, would be beneficial to keep accurate cam timing.
